CardScan Privacy Policy

App: CardScan (web app at cardscan-e6z.pages.dev and its Google Play version, package com.malbyenterprises.cardscan)
Publisher: Malby Enterprises LLC
Last updated: October 24, 2026

The short version

CardScan works entirely on your phone. We don't collect, upload, sell or share anything. There are no accounts.

Camera

CardScan uses your camera only when you tap Scan card or Scan back side, to take a picture of a business card. The flash is used only if you turn it on. Camera images are never uploaded.

Text reading (OCR)

The text on the card is read by software that runs on your device. Card images and text are not sent to us or to any other service.

Microphone (optional)

If you tap a 🎤 button to correct a field by voice, your phone's built-in speech recognition is used. On some phones the system's speech service (for example, Google's) may process the audio under its own privacy policy. CardScan itself does not record or store audio.

Where your cards are kept

Saved cards and their photos are stored only in the app's local storage on your phone. Deleting a card removes it from your phone. Uninstalling the app or clearing its data removes all saved cards. When you choose Save to contacts, Show QR or Export, the contact is handed to the app you pick, and that app's own privacy policy applies.

No accounts, ads or tracking

There is no sign-in. CardScan uses no analytics, advertising IDs or third-party trackers.

Children

CardScan is a business tool and is not directed at children. It does not knowingly collect data from anyone.

Changes

If this policy changes, the new version will be posted on this page with a new date.
